Hey, sorry I haven't posted in a while.
Anyone who is trying to build a business or make money in some way online will find this post usefull --
You probably are starting to hear this more and more with the growing popularity of social networking websites... I would just like to emphasize how important this is.
The days of directly marketing to people online have come and gone. Oldschool web marketers will still do this...think banner ads, junk email aka spam, and any kind of "in your face" buy my crap ad.
Nowadays, this kind of advertising rarely works. If you want to grow a quality customer base, you need to focus on relationship building, NOT sales. Think -- "how can I help someone succeed", NOT "how can I make money off people". Help as many people as you can for FREE (through free advice, free giveaways, free articles, blog posts, comments, whatever) and the money & sales will follow.
This is the general idea. More specifics about social networking -- what sites to use, DOs and Don'ts, and more tips to come.... stay tuned....

save money buying on eBay
FOR ANYONE WHO EVER BUYS ON EBAY -- listen up!!!
the only thing I regret is that I didn't start doing this sooner...I've saved about $30 total in the last 3 days.
Whatever the buy it now price is (or the minimum bid price), simply send the seller a message and offer to buy the item from them for $5 to $10 less (or more than $10 depending on how expensive the item is). Offer to buy it from them OFF EBAY. In other words, you send them the money directly through paypal, and they remove the item from eBay.
It's win-win. You get a lower price, and they save a hefty eBay final value fee.
Just keep in mind that this is technically forbidden by eBay, but more and more people are doing this now...
Also, only do this with sellers with lots of positive feedbacks. This is 100% trust, because if they decide to not send you your item you technically can't do anything. With reputable sellers this is almost never an issue though.

hot stock tips for 2009
I always like to have some of my assets include stocks, even in this market. Yes, we are in a recession and the stockmarket has been going down. With that being said, the recession will eventually end...maybe in a few months, maybe in a year, maybe even two. But it WILL end. When it does, the market will bounce back, and everyone who got rid of all their stocks will be sorry. As many people seem to forget, investing = long term.
The stock market has gone up 10% on average in every 10 year period. This even includes the great depression. So without further ado, here's a few stock tips for 2009 I found at the website below:

How to Buy Stocks and Make Money in 2009
It is scary to buy stocks in the current recession. But if you think ahead about what will be needed in the new economy, now is a great time to buy stocks while the prices are low. With the new administration of President Barak Obama, opportunities are arising to make money in different sectors. Now is the time to buy stocks in industries that will be important in the new economy.
1. INFASTRUCTURE--A lot has been said of "shovel ready projects" that may be of interest to Obama's administration. It may be a good idea to buy stocks in companies who build roads, provide concrete, or even little things like companies who make traffic lights!
2. HEALTHCARE--Buy stocks in companies in all areas of healthcare. You could buy stocks in pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreen, Rite Aid, etc. or pharmaceutical laboratories which actually manufacture medicines. There will also be a great need and investment in tech firms who deal with medical information and computerizing medical records.
3. ALTERNATIVE ENERGY--Nuclear, solar, and wind power are of high interest and the Obama administration seems poised to pour more funds into these sources so alternative energy investing seems wise. Buy stocks now in companies who are obviously related to these sectors and also lesser known companies such as those who make valves and pumps and hardware to connect solar panels and wind turbines to the power grid.

a little something extra
I don't usually do this, but I just wanted to let all you guys know what's been going on in my life recently...not really related to making money but what the heck.
1. I just joined a band. Their called It Is What It Is (iiwii). If you want to check out our music here it is
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=73555107
2. I've been interviewing for an internet marketing internship. As much as I like working on my newsletter, website, and products, I think it would be really nice to get some "business" experience working for an established company.
3. I just had some Lentil soup for dinner... It was quite delicious.
Oh, by the way, if you want to friend me on facebook please feel free. Jordan Sanders, and my network is Indiana '08

quick tip
ok, so this won't make anyone rich, but it's definitely something you should be aware of...
So, I'm sure you've all heard of rising bullion prices recently, in part caused by our struggling economy. Now that the stock market sucks, many are turning to gold bullion for investing purposes.
Well...speaking of rising bullion prices...guess what? All pennies made on or before 1982 actually contain about 3 cents worth of copper. During 1982, SOME pennies were made with copper, and some made with zinc. Here's how to tell. Flick it in the air. If it makes a ringing sound, it's copper. If it makes a dull sound, it's zinc.
What I've been doing is simply putting aside all the copper pennies I receive in change. One day, perhaps in a year or two, I'll sell them in a lot for their bullion value and make triple or quadruple the face value!!! Wow, I am way too excited about this

ps
ps - I'm sure you can guess the reason I've been so successful selling presidential inaugural memorabilia in the last few days...
sell whats hottt
Okay, this may be common sense to some of you, but I just have to say it anyway because its soooo important...
Sell what's hot or popular at the moment. I can't tell you how much this has helped my sales. I'll give you a few examples...
I've had a bunch of Nancy Drew books for a while. Did I sell them right away?? No. I waited until the Nancy Drew movie came out and sold as many as I could then.
I've done the same thing with vintage James Bond books, with great success.
I also have sold Nancy Drew and James Bond books at other times, when the movies were NOT in theaters...and I noticed a HUGE difference. They didn't sell nearly as fast, and I had to price them a LOT lower.
Most recently, I've been fortunate enough to find a whole stockpile of old presidential innaugural memorabilia. No joke, I've sold about $500 worth in the last two days.
I understand that you won't always be able to find sources for everything. Just do the best you can. Remember, keep your eyes and ears open, and strike while the iron is hot!!! Best of luck!
